1st game - 1873 rules (7 innings)

On a beautiful and windy day, the Brooklyn Stars made their long awaited debut against the Flemington Neshanocks. In the first inning, Wombat got things started with a single then stole a base to advance to second. Stacks followed up with a single but the inning came to a close when Brooklyn hit a fly ball to the center fielder and he threw out Wombat at second base to chicago the Stars in the first. In the bottom of the first inning, Flemington would tack on nine aces to make it 9-0 but not to take credit away from Bagsy who made a spectacular diving catch to get the second out of the inning. In the second inning, the Stars' bats came alive with Stacks and Preacher respectively hitting singles and stole a base. Slider and Batman both hit a double with Slider stealing a base making the score 9-3. Good defense by the infield in the bottom of the second holding the Neshanocks to two aces making the score after two innings 11-3.
In the third inning, Trolley started off the inning with a double and a steal but once again the Stars goes scoreless and Flemington would tack on one more ace to make the score 12-3. In the fourth inning, Preacher hit a triple to send Bagsy home to make the score 12-4. Flemington would score nine more and Slider had enough, he made his pitching debut late in the inning and was able to slow down the bleeding to keep the score 21-4. The fifth inning, the Stars were chicgaoed once more but the pitching change proved to work as Flemington was held to one ace. The score was 22-4. In the sixth inning, Brooklyn was able to send Stacks home with a single then stole a base to make the score 22-5. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Stars was able to shutout Flemington for the first time in the game and after six innings the score was 22-5. In the seventh and final inning, The Stars made on more attempt to catch up to the Neshanocks by tallying four more aces by Dutch, Trooper, Trolley, and Wombat all hitting singles and scoring, but fell short to make the final score 22-9.

2nd game - 1860 rules (7 innings)

In the second game, we played by Star rules, 1860 rules. In the first inning, Flemington tallied two aces and shutout the Stars to make the score 2-0. In the second inning, Flemington would score seven more but not before a nice pickoff by Slider to get the runner out at second and another close one to get the runner caught in a rundown but the Flemington runner was to quick for Wombat and Dutch to handle. Stars would again be chicagoed in the bottom of the second inning making the score 9-0. The next three innings, Flemington would score seven more and the Stars would be chicagoed again to make the score 16-0. In the sixth inning, both teams showed great defense by a great double play by Stacks and Dutch getting the runner out at home then the runner at third. In the bottom of the sixth, Flemington would make it a 1-2-3 inning as both teams were chicagoed in the sixth to keep the score 16-0. In the seventh and last inning, The Neshanocks would tally on five more aces with some nice grounders to the left side of the field to make the score 21-0. In the bottom of the seventh, the Stars was determined not to be shutout. Wombat started off with a single and a steal. Dutch and Bagsy would follow up and do the same thing to give the Stars two aces. Flemington would end the game with a double play by the shortstop getting Trooper out on a bound catch and throwing it to the second baseman to get the fleet-footed Slider out. The final score, Flemington 21
