Game 1 - Brooklyn Atlantics 11 - Gothams 3

Game 2 - Brooklyn Atlantics 14 - Gothams 2

BRUTAL!

That's all I can say about the Gotham's day vs. Atlantic BBC. Actually- the fielding was pretty good. No real complaints. For those of you upset woth your fielding- remember- we don't wear gloves. errors are going to happen. But we really didn't do badly in the field. They just hit a lot of well palced balls. And truly- we didnt allow that many runs over the two games. Gotham simply couldn't find the bats. Actualy- it might have been better if we'd left them at home. Who knows?

Game 1:

Gotham finaly held their opponents down - allowing 4 runs in the 5th and never more than 2 otherwise- chicagoing Atlantic in the 4th, 8th and 9th. Unfortunately- Gotham could only muster 3 aces themselves- being chicagoed in the 2nd through 5th innings and again in the 9th. I'll skip all the ugly details and say that Candles did a nice job at the bat - scoring 2 of Gotham's 3 aces. Well done Candles! And our newest addition - Paul Casperson (Who still needs a nickname) scored the 3rd. Welcome to the team and the game, Paul! Final score - Atlantic 11 Gotham 3

Game 2-

Equally as well played defensively- and worse at the bat (we should have burried them and left then to sprout leaves in the spring)- Gotham allowed 5 in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd, 4 in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th- before finally Chcagoing Atlantic in the final 5 innings. otham on the other and was shut out in the first 8 innings. Scoring 2 in the 9th to ease the pain were Rugs and Stacks. Wilkes Booth struck out one Atlantic batter. Homer hit well in game two- but ran himself out of a couple of situations. Kid and Pops both palayed for the opponents and Pops played exceedingly well at 2nd base all day. Traitor! We also had three substitutes come in to ths game as teh A's had injuries and being shirta player to begin with. Walker's brother KEvin, and two ohters who happened along joined in- one saw us in Central Park and made the trek all the way from Inwood to see us play again. anyway- Atlantic14 Gotham 2.
