Game 5 - 1864 Rules:
By the time this epic battle had begun, it was determined that the final game would be played between the Atlantic club from Brooklyn and the Neshanock club from the other side of the Hudson from Flemington. It was then decided, that in order to win the Gotham Cup that the winner must prevail in 2 of 3 contests.
In the first of these 3 hard-fought battles of 2 Gotham Cup veteran teams, the Brooklyn Atlantic club was victorious by a tally of 17-6. The game was close and competitive at the outset, but the Atlantic strikers were too tough for Flemington on this dreary day and pulled ahead in the late part of the game to take a 1 game to 0 lead.
Notes from Atlantic web site:
In game 2, Hammy led the way with 4 hits while Nice&Easy had 3 hits. Pigtail picked up the victory.
